Laboratory Staff at the National Board of Forensic Medicine in Linköping
Do you want to help strengthen the rule of law? At the National Board of Forensic Medicine, experts in forensic medicine, forensic chemistry, forensic genetics, and forensic psychiatry collaborate to provide the justice system with the answers it needs. We are now looking for laboratory staff for the forensic genetics unit in Linköping. The forensic genetics and forensic chemistry department analyzes samples to identify deceased individuals, establish paternity, and trace and determine the concentration of alcohol, drugs, medications, and doping substances. The forensic genetics laboratory unit extracts and analyzes DNA primarily from human biological material. The operations are divided into four subject areas: kinship, analysis in cases of suspected sudden cardiac death, species identification, and forensic genetic leads. The unit employs 15 people.
Your Mission
The laboratory work involves unpacking, registering cases and samples, and independent work in the ongoing routine operations with a focus on kinship investigations. Depending on which part of the process you work in, customer contact via phone and invoicing may also be part of your duties.
Qualifications
- At least four semesters of natural science higher education or university education
- Good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form
Meritorious
- Experience with similar tasks and questions that the unit works with

Employment
The employment is temporary full-time during the summer period. Start date is according to agreement. Placement in Linköping at the forensic genetics laboratory unit. The National Board of Forensic Medicine applies individual salary setting.

The Department of Forensic Genetics and Forensic Chemistry (RG/RK) analyzes samples to identify deceased individuals, establish paternity, and trace and determine the concentration of alcohol, drugs, medications, and doping substances. The department is located in Linköping and consists of four units: the forensic genetics laboratory unit, the forensic chemistry laboratory unit, the investigation unit, and the operational support unit.
